The Winter Ensemble performance Reflections on the Holiday
Season, is not to be missed. The Ensemble is drawn from the
larger 75-person Putnam Chorale. Now in its 40th year, the group has
sung for audiences that enjoy classical and contemporary music, especially
selected for the holiday season. The Locust Grove program includes beautiful
historical carols, like Here We Come a Wassailing; arrangements by the
prolific American composer, Gwyneth Walker, such as Bring a Torch;
lyrical, contemporary pieces by the Norwegian composer, Ola Gjeilo, and
movements from Vivaldi’s soaring and uplifting Gloria. Jason C. Tramm,
music director and conductor, has received critical acclaim throughout
the United States and abroad for his work in the choral, symphonic, and
operatic realms.
